Transfer Your Orthodontic Treatment to L&L Orthodontics

Step 1: Complete Our Transfer Enquiry Form

Before scheduling an appointment, we ask transferring patients to submit photos using our Free Online Assessment. This allows our team to assess:

• Whether your current braces or appliance are compatible with our systems
• The health of your teeth and gums
• Your current stage of treatment

Please note that not all orthodontic appliances are the same. Some systems require specific replacement parts that may not be available outside the original practice. If this applies, our team will guide you on the best options available for you.

Patients currently undergoing Invisalign or clear aligner treatment may also need to complete a treatment transfer form.

This step helps ensure there are no surprises at your first visit and allows our team to prepare for your care.

Step 2: A Specialist Orthodontist Reviews Your Request

Once we receive your photos and enquiry, one of our Specialist Orthodontists will carefully review your case. This review helps us understand:

• Your current treatment progress
• What treatment may still be required
• Whether we can support the remainder of your orthodontic journey

Step 3: Provide Your Transfer Records

To safely continue your treatment, we will require records from your current orthodontic provider. These typically include:

• A transfer letter outlining your treatment plan and appliance type
• Pre-treatment dental photographs
• Pre-treatment X-rays

These records allow our orthodontists to understand your original treatment goals, assess your progress so far, and determine the most appropriate way to continue your care.

Step 4: Book Your New Patient Appointment

Once your photos and records have been reviewed and we confirm we can accept your transfer, our team will contact you to arrange a New Patient Appointment at either our Melbourne CBD or Templestowe clinic. During this visit:

• You will meet with our Treatment Coordinator
• Our clinical team will take new X-rays, scans and dental photographs
• One of our Specialist Orthodontists will assess your teeth, appliances and treatment progress in person

Following the appointment, your orthodontist will determine the estimated remaining treatment time and provide information about any fees involved in completing your treatment with L&L Orthodontics.

Step 5: Our Treatment Coordinator Will Guide You

After your appointment, your Treatment Coordinator will walk you through:

• Your remaining treatment plan
• Any applicable fees
• Next steps
• Scheduling future appointments

We make sure you have all the information you need to move forward with confidence.
