Founded by Dr Igor Lavrin and later joined by Dr Sarah Lawrence, what began as a single practice in Melbourne CBD has grown into a trusted name in orthodontics with two state-of-the-art locations.
For 25 years, we’ve helped transform thousands of smiles by embracing the latest technology – from being early adopters of Invisalign® in Australia to leading the way with Dental Monitoring, LightForce™ 3D Braces where we are now the largest provider in Australia.

Dr Igor Lavrin established Lavrin Orthodontics at Level 15, 15 Collins Street, Melbourne, featuring two treatment chairs. The practice offered stainless steel, ceramic, gold, and lingual brackets for braces. Dr Lavrin was one of the first Australian orthodontists trained in Invisalign® and introduced this innovative clear aligner system to Australia with the opening of the practice.
The practice expanded by opening a second location at Level 1, 110 James Street, Templestowe, approximately 30 minutes north of Melbourne's CBD. This clinic featured one treatment chair and one consultation chair, allowing the practice to serve a broader patient base.
Dr. Sarah Lawrence joined the practice, leading to the renaming of the clinic to Lavrin & Lawrence Orthodontics. This partnership combined their expertise to enhance patient care and expand treatment offerings.
Demonstrating a commitment to patient experience, the practice became one of the first orthodontic clinics to introduce SMS appointment reminders, enhancing communication and reducing missed appointments.
Dr Lavrin and Dr Lawrence were appointed as clinical consultants and lecturers for Invisalign® in the Asia-Pacific region, sharing their expertise and contributing to the advancement of clear aligner treatment.
The practice incorporated iTero scanners into their diagnostic tools, allowing for precise digital impressions and improving the accuracy of orthodontic treatments.
The practice introduced Incognito customised lingual brackets, offering patients a discreet orthodontic treatment option where braces are placed on the inner surfaces of the teeth, making them less visible.
The Templestowe clinic moved to a new, state-of-the-art facility at 1 Milne Street, Templestowe, providing enhanced amenities and a modern environment for patients.
Dr Sarah Lawrence and Dr Igor Lavrin celebrated significant milestones, having completed 500 and 1,000 Invisalign® cases respectively, highlighting their extensive experience with clear aligner treatment.
The practice launched Dental Monitoring, a cutting-edge app that allows patients to use their smartphones to send regular updates on their treatment progress, enabling remote monitoring and reducing the frequency of in-person visits.
As the practice expanded and strengthened its reputation, the rebrand to L&L Orthodontics marked a new chapter, highlighting its continued growth, collaborative expertise, and commitment to exceptional patient care.
The practice celebrated its 20th anniversary, marking two decades of providing high-quality orthodontic care to the community.
Dr. Sarah Louise Roath joined L&L Orthodontics, further strengthening the team's expertise and capacity.
The practice introduced Spark - ultra-clear, stain-resistant clear aligners.
L&L Orthodontics is proud to be Australia's first provider of LightForce™ 3D-printed custom braces, leading the way in innovative orthodontic solutions.
Dr. Louise Hagan joined the team, bringing her experience and further enhancing the practice's ability to provide comprehensive orthodontic care.
